Sten Eirik

Sten Eirik, M.A. Psychotherapist

Sten graduated with a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School in Chicago, U.S. He is a fully certified member of the OACCPP. In addition to his private practice, Sten provides counselling through one of Canada's leading-edge Employee Assistance Programs. He has extensive experience in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused brief therapy as it applies to a wide variety of issues. With couples and families, Sten gives special attention to creating a level playing field where each partner is heard, respected and challenged to become a part of the solution. With individuals, Sten explores feelings, thoughts and behaviors in order to foster new skills, self-knowledge and self-reliance.

With his professional background in the performing arts, Sten brings a lively approach to his clinical practice, attending closely to the creative will of clients. Sten's studies in gender roles and sexual paraphilia have been published internationally in peer-reviewed academic journals. Sten also conducts his popular workshop THE GAME PLAN, a weekend intensive for couples as well as workplace groups wishing to develop improved communication and cooperation.
