Eghbal Tahbaz graduated with a doctoral degree in Behavioural Science and Psychotherapy from School of Psychology, Florida Institute of Technology (F.I.T.), U.S.A. She has been recognized and awarded by the International Academy of Behavioural Medicine, Counselling and Psychotherapy in U.S.A as "Diplomat", indicating her high level of clinical expertise in the field of Psychotherapy.
Eghbal Tahbaz is a registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Certified Member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists (OACCPP). She is also a registered Clinical Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers (OCSWSSW). Her Counselling and Psychotherapy services are covered by the most Extended Health Benefits.
She was one of the pioneers in the field of Mental Health in Iran and leading the Department of Mental Health at the Ministry of Health in Iran between 1980-1986.
She was formerly an Executive Board member of the Brain Injury Association of Toronto.
Eghbal Tahbaz with an outstanding reputation, has had a private practice in Canada more than a quarter century. She is the founder of Prospect Counselling and Psychotherapy in Toronto, serving culturally diverse clients since 1987. She is receiving referrals from medical teams, lawyers and Canadian government and non-governmental organizations.
Ms. Tahbaz offers marriage/couple counselling and family therapy in the areas of relationship, domestic violence, anger management. She works with individuals on issues related to depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, behavioural and emotional problems, chronic illness and pain management strategy.
Also, she has extensive experience in working with individuals with serious illnesses such as head injury and other traumatic physical problems. She has been engaged in assessment, rehabilitation and psychotherapy of hundreds of individuals and their families who were affected by a traumatic situation helping them to resume their normal life.
