Troubleshooting Help

All articles, commentaries and other features of the magazine that are selected for publication will be widely read by a targeted audience of almost 2000 of your peers within the Association, as well as many others as many copies are read by multiple readers. Generate speaking engagements, find others interested in your specific area of practice, find writing partners, and find more recognition within the Association, since your biographical and contact information is included with every contribution.

Psychologica provides an honorarium for authors

Published features articles, containing references to research, and a recommended reading list, will receive an honorarium of $100.

Book reviews appearing in the magazine will earn an honorarium of $50.

There are many ways to contriburte. Examine the business side of professional practice with a column for Business Bytes. Submit a word puzzle. Have a good luck at the past issues, and see what features appeal to you as an author.

You do not have to be a completely polished writer to contribute. Psychologica staff is available to help you along the way.

Feature Article
1000 to 2800 words in length, with a timely topic, of interest to a large proportion of the membership. References to research, and a list of resources of interest to those who wish further information must be included. Three to six of these articles are published each year.
Secondary Articles
400 to 2100 words in length, with a timely topic of interest to a large proportion of the membership. References to research and a suggested reading list can also be included. Commentary is also welcome in this category, regarding a personal experience and how it has affected your worldview and/or practice. Resources you have developed, or lists of resources with some description of how they have been useful to you, are also welcome.
Book Review
Submit your review of a current book that will be of interest to a large proportion of the membership. Maximum length is 500 words. Include a good quality scanned image of the book cover if possible.
Business Bytes
Up to 700 words in length. An article pertaining to your area of service, or of general interest to the membership. What worked and what didn’t. Something interesting you have discovered about running your business, or about dealing with other people in your place of work, something you have found out through dealing with an expert. Could be anything from communication skills to tax tips.
Client’s Corner
Submit a client’s writings, with their permission. We will publish anonymously if they so wish. Maximum length, 700 words.
Letter to the Editor
Tell us what you think of the Association, current topics of interest, or the magazine. Maximum 200 words.
Members Muse
Submit some of your personal writings such as poetry, or just give us the good news that you’ve changed jobs, finished your Masters or PhD, become Certified or opened a new practice. Maximum length, 700 words.
Columns
Any Committee Chair or their designate is welcome to submit a column, updating members on Committee activities or news, for any issue. Simply submit by the deadline. Maximum length, 700 words.
Bulletin Board
Submit notices for other members, as long as they are not for profit. Starting a study zopgroup? Looking for space to share? Want to talk to people who have taken a certain course or seminar? These and other similar items are appropriate for the Bulletin Board. Maximum length, 100 words.
