Eileen Ormond, MA (C) OACCPP, Therapist Eileen Ormond M.A. (c) OACCPP is a Certified Psychotherapist who specializes in Grief Therapy. She utilizes a wide range of approaches including Cognitive, Behavioural, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness and Expressive Arts Therapy. Whether you are facing a major life transition, the devastating loss of a loved-one or a personal challenge that threatens your connection with self and others, New Dawn Counselling provides you with a place to pause and reflect, to be heard and understood, to heal a shattered sense of self and to honour your losses. Education: Eileen received a Masters of Religion and Culture from Wilfred Laurier, where she completed her thesis entitled, "Feminist Ritual: Healing, Transformation and Empowerment." She also completed two years of clinical training in Individual and Family Therapy at Interfaith Counselling Centre in Kitchener, Ontario. She has received training in Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. Eileen is an E.M.D.R. therapist and is working towards certification. Publication: "Grief Responses and Group Treatment for Five-to Eight-Year-Old Children," in the series, Beyond the Innocence of Childhood, edited by David Adams and Elanor Deveau, 1995. This work was based on seven years of research she collected while conducting grief support groups for children 5-8, 9-13 and adolescents 14-21 years of age.
