![]() Donald M. Smith, (C)OACCPPFortunately, Don was recruited and trained by Murray Axmith and worked with him for over 20 years as a senior outplacement/transition consultant. He is now an independent career consultant located in North Riverdale in Toronto, near to the subway. His services include helping clients to identify a fulfilling career direction and finding suitable work or becoming self-employed. As Regional Director with the Addiction Research Foundation (now the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health) he directed teams of community and industry consultants and served as the president's Chair of the Employee Assistance Programs Task Force (EAP). Previously he directed the East London Family Service Unit (in England) and was general manager, psychiatric services at Scarborough Centenary Hospital. He has written dozens of articles and written/edited several books. Don has a degree in industrial management, a certificate in psychiatric child care work from the Ontario Ministry of Health (Mental Health Branch) and an M.S.W. He is qualified with the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (Step 1 and 2) and the Strong Interest Inventory.
